TheNew Thalian Players present members with 3 different awards
THE DANNY
NTP's most prestigious award, presented to those who selflessly give heart, mind and body to helping New Thalian Players maintain their level of excellence. Named in memory of our dear friend, Dan Desrochers.
This coveted award is given infrequently to outstanding members of The New Thalian Players who, over years of service, have given to the troupe more then was ever required of them, and given it quietly and with humility. Dan Desrochers, for whom this award is named, was a treasured member of The Players who worked with diligence and joy to make this theater company the best it could be. He played roles, large and small, both onstage and off, with grace and generosity. Dan died in April 1995, at the age of twenty-nine. This award which is named in his memory is a ship’s prism. It is significant that the prism was used on the old sailing vessels to bring light into the lower depths of the ship. So also does the recipient of the “Danny” award bring light to our theater troupe, illuminating us all.
GOLDEN APPLE
Presented to those whose positive attitude and friendly demeanor enriches the lives of all around them.
In every group, be it actors or any other kind of animal, there appear, once in a while, beings who light up a room just by entering it. These are persons, who, by dint of their sunny personalities, constancy and genuine willingness to be of help, make the rest of us delight in their company. These people are considered by us to be golden and therefore, treasured.

Presented since 1998 in recognition for generosity of time and spirit to the technical side of theatre.
